Mercury and CTE to Develop a Zero-Emissions Fleet Transition Plan for Montgomery County, MD

Montgomery County, Maryland Fleet Management Services Division has contracted with Mercury Associates, in association with the Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE), to develop a Zero-Emissions Fleet Transition Plan the County’s Administrative, Heavy Equipment, Transit Bus, and Public Safety fleets to zero-emission vehicle applications. The purpose of this project is to develop realistic strategies and executable plans for reaching these milestones. Montgomery County operates a fleet of approximately 3,600 vehicles and pieces of equipment. The County has specific goals to reduce the fleet’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 80 percent by FY 2027 and 100 percent by FY 2034.
